Who we are

My name is Kate Santus, and tennis has always been at the heart of my family. My grandparents, Sidney and Jeff Turner, founded the original Dudley’s Racquet Shop in 1984 and ran it until 2005, building a trusted reputation for quality stringing and service that I’m proud to continue today.

After closing the shop, my grandfather continued to share his love for the game, teaching at Shadow Valley and stringing racquets for the community at First Serve Tennis with Liz Messenger and Nancy O'Henry-Roberts until 2020. I had the privilege of working alongside him during that time, learning the craft of racquet stringing while witnessing firsthand how much he, Liz, and Nancy meant to the Toledo tennis community. The way they combined professionalism with personal care left a lasting impression on me.

Since then, I’ve also had the opportunity to travel and work with ATP professionals, such as Ben Shelton and Learner Tien, learning the precision and performance standards required at the sport’s highest level. That same attention to detail goes into every racquet I string, whether you’re competing in tournaments, training hard, or simply playing for the love of the game.

At Dudley’s, I focus on more than just restringing racquets. I work with players to find the correct string, tension, and setup to match their style, ensuring you step onto the court with a racquet that feels like a true extension of your game.

I’d love to meet you and hear about your tennis goals. Feel free to stop by the shop anytime, whether it’s to drop off a racquet, ask a question, or say hello.
